Engagement Announcement Submission

Instructions Please Read Carefully

  Engagement Information

The Herald Democrat will make every effort to   clarify any information that is in question.   However, we will not be responsible for errors   due to unclear information or mistakes made by
the party submitting the form.

Should any errors occur in the actual publication, they must be reported to the Life Department no later than two weeks after the article was published. The decision of whether the article can be rerun will be made at that time.

Deadline and Cost

Engagement annoucements are run in the Sunday edition of the Herald Democrat. The deadline for turning in the information and photograph is a minimum of three full weeks prior (published two full weeks) to the actual date of the ceremony. It is prefered that the information be turned in either a month or longer prior to the wedding date.

Engagement announcements are published free of charge if submitted for publication within the apropriate deadline.

Engagements that are submitted after the deadline must be a paid advertisement that will be processed through the Herald Democrat Retail Advertising Department. The cost of the ad will vary depending upon the size and the information desired on the announcement.

Engagement Photos

Any size color or black and white photograph is acceptable. However, we discourage the use of photographs printed from a home computer due to poor reproduction quality.

Only a close-up photograph of the bride-to-be or the couple can be used. No other person may be in the photograph. Full-length photographs cannot be used.

Photographs will be returned only if accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelop. The Herald Democrat will not be responsiblefor lost or damaged photographs.

Photographs and engagement information can be submitted either by electronic form or it can also be brought into the Denison or Sherman office. It can also be emailed to Lynette George If emailing a photograph, it must be in .jpg or .tif format at 200 dpi.

For questions or more information, contact Lynette George, Life Editor, at (903) 465-7171.
