Sherman Police

Bicyclist jailed -- Nov. 10, 900 block East Houston, Police arrested a man, 45, for riding a bike which had no headlight on it, failure to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle and public intoxication in the 900 block of East Lamar. The suspect paid $643 in fines and was released later Tuesday.

Drugs taken into the jail -- Nov. 9, Grayson County Jail, During a property inventory at the jail's book-in desk, Police found a suspect, 18, in possession of a narcotic, and added a charge of possession of controlled substance. After that, a bondsman went off the suspect's previous bond on a charge of possession of marijuana, which means he must post bond again before he can be released.

Assault arrest -- Nov. 9, 300 block N. McKown, A woman reported to police that a man had choked her during an argument, leaving red marks on her neck and upper chest. Police jailed the suspect, a 35-year-old Sherman man, on a charge of assault causing injury-family violence.

Motorcycles elude police -- Nov. 11, 5600 block Texoma Parkway, About 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Police spotted two motorcycles speeding up Texoma Parkway, one of them only on its back wheel. He initiated a traffic stop, which the drivers ignored and, instead, ran a red light at Texoma Parkway and Woodlake Road. He called in to dispatch that he was in pursuit, but then reported he lost sight of the motorcycles.

Assault with truck -- Nov. 10, 1800 block Yarborough, A woman reported to police that a man who she knows first assaulted her, then tried to run his truck over her and her toddler-age child.

Denison Police

Theft -- Nov. 8, 900 block West Walker, Police were sent to a residence because someone had stolen items from it. 

Assault causing injury -- Nov. 10, 1505 South Austin (Cardinal Inn), Police were sent to a room at a motel because of a 911 hang-up call. There, they spoke with a woman who stated that her former boyfriend had entered her room and struck her in the face. 

Robbery -- Nov. 11, 1527 S. Austin (Circle Apartments), Police reported that a man said he had gone to the apartments to visit a relative about 1 a.m. There, four men met him at his car, taunted him to fight and when he, instead, reached for his cell phone to get help, one of the men grabbed it and ran. 

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest -- Nov. 10, 500 block East Woodard, Police watched a driver commit various moving violations. A search uncovered cocaine, digital scales and rolling papers in the suspect's possession. Police jailed the suspect on one count of felony evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, two counts of assault on public servant, one count of resisting arrest, and one felony count of possession of controlled substance (cocaine). At the jail, officials served him with two outstanding warrants charging him with not having paid fines on previous traffic violations.
