Fannin County SheriffLeonard area assault investigation -- May 24, About 1 a.m., the deputies were dispatched to a Leonard area home and met with a woman who claimed that earlier a third woman had pulled her down to the ground by her hair and kicked her on the cheek. A cell phone video provided information that indicates the third woman wasn't involved, but was only trying to break up the fight, according to the report.
Assault inside jail -- May 23, Fannin County Jail, One inmate reported that two other inmates assaulted him. He said they approached him and tried to provoke him into a fight by hitting him several times. He said he returned one punch. The two suspects then struck him several times both with open hands and closes fists. The blows left bruises on both sides of his torso, plus several contusions. Afterward they made the victim give them commissary items including snacks and a T-shirt.
Violation of protective order -- May 24, 400 block CR 2212, Ivanhoe area, The complainant stated that a man had come onto her property, within 10 feet of her residence, which was in violation of the protective order against him. Deputies patrolled the area, but were unable to find the suspect.
