Police reports
Sherman PoliceArrests -- June 23, 900 block South Walnut, Sherman police narcotics detectives served a search warrant on a residence where they found and confiscated less than one gram of methamphetamine. They jailed two people on outstanding felony warrants.
Sarah Dotson, 48, remains incarcerated without benefit of bail on an outstanding Fannin County warrant charging her with forgery and also on a Grayson County warrant charging her with motion to revoke probation on a previous drug conviction.
Also jailed was Anthony Wade Buford, 24, of Allen, on a Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles warrant. The TBBP notified jail officials Thursday to go ahead and release him.
Assault with stick -- June 23, 1400 block East Lamar, Officers were dispatched to a residence because of two men fighting. The suspect hit the victim with a wooden stick, causing injury.
Burglary -- June 23, 300 block North Willow, Someone broke into a soft drink vending machine outside a lawn firm between 5 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. About $60 in coins were taken.
Graffiti -- June 23, 3500 Town Center, Graffiti causing damage estimated between $500-$1,500 was placed on two buildings.
Damaged safe found -- June 23, 1200 block South Gribble, A man found a damaged safe in a group of trees and called police. It had been pried open and was empty.
Burglary -- June 23, 1300 block South Austin, Between 8:30 a.m. and 6:17 p.m. Tuesday, someone stole several electronics from a residence.
Durant Police
Fatal industrial accident -- June 25, 8:46 a.m. 2201 West Arkansas, Durant fire, EMS, and police were dispatched to a business where a man had been fatally injured. The victim and another employee were attempting to move several pieces of granite when a stone split. Several pieces of granite fell on the victim's head.
Burglary suspect jailed -- June 23, 8 p.m., 700 block West Beech, A resident called police to report someone had taken her purse and its contents from her home. A suspect was arrested, and property was returned to the victim.
Marijuana arrest -- June 23, 3712 West Main (Wal-Mart), Ptl. Bryan Moore. A woman who returned to the store after remembering where she had left her purse was jailed because marijuana was found in the purse, and police were called to investigate.
