Sherman Police

Teens arrested on drug and burglary charges -- May 15, 1000 block West Brockett, Two males, one, 17, and the other 16 or younger, were jailed on charges of burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of controlled substance between 28-200 grams, and possession of dangerous drugs.

The 17-year-old Sherman man posted a total of $10,500 surety bonds and was released from Grayson County Jail. The juvenile was incarcerated at the Juvenile Detention Center. Sgt. Bruce Dawsey said these two people are suspects in several vehicle burglaries of that week.

Drug arrest -- May 22, 3000 block Loy Lake Road, A Denison man, 31, went to jail Friday on a felony drug charge of possession of controlled substance (cocaine) beween 1-4 grams. He posted $7,500 surety bonds on Saturday afternoon.

Arrests -- May 22, 1900 block Baker, A 27-year-old Sherman man, who now lists his address as being in Mesquite, went to jail for the seventh time in Grayson County on a charge of driving while license suspended. The current charge is enhanced because of previous convictions. A look at Grayson County Jail records shows that this was the suspect's 50th jailing since he turned 17.

A 25-year-old Sherman man was jailed on a felony charge of possession of controlled substance between 4-200 grams, and this suspect has been jailed 29 previous times, records show.

Marijuana tossed and found -- May 24, 1 a.m., 400 block North Harrison, Three people were jailed on possession of marijuana charges.

Robbery suspect jailed -- May 24, 4800 block Texoma Parkway, A Sumner woman, 44, was arrested on a charge of theft less than $1,500 and an outstanding Hunt County warrant charging her with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. \

Grayson County Sheriff

Van Alstyne area illegal burn extinguished-- May 25, 300 block G.T. Bailey Road, The case has been turned over to the Grayson County Environmental deputy for further action.

Burglary -- May 24, Highland Village, A complainant said he parked his vehicle in the parking lot of Little Mineral Marina and slept on his boat. The next morning, he discovered someone had gone into his unlocked vehicle and took his clothes, briefcase and wallet. 

Burglary -- May 25, 100 block Gateway, Two vehicles at the Texas Instruments Recreational Area, north of Pottsboro on Lake Texoma, were burglarized. Taken were a handgun, money, sunglasses, a check, a GPS handheld, a radar detector, and a laptop, money and an iPod.

Burglary -- May 22, 1100 block DesVoignes Road, During the past few weeks, someone entered the complainant's boat while it was parked under a detached carport and took 11 rods and reels.

Sherman area burglary -- May 22, 2000 block East Shepherd, Someone entered a residence the homeowner was fixing and ripped the wires out of the walls and took conduit also from the house. 

Arrest -- May 25, Lighthouse Marina, A Sherman man was in the parking lot throwing rocks at the cabins and yelling. Campbell determined the man was intoxicated and jailed him on a charge of public intoxication. He paid $285 fine and was released eight hours later.

Identity theft -- May 25, Gordonville area, A complainant stated that she filed her income tax return, and hen her refund didn't come, she called the Internal Revenue Service, who told her they placed a hold on it, that someone else had filed a tax return using her Social Security number. A copy of the police report was sent to the IRS Fraud Division for more research to find out who is using her identity.
