Sherman Police
Update -- Sherman police Sgt. Bruce Dawsey said the final autopsy report on a woman found dead inside her car last month has been returned. The Dallas County Medical Examiner for the cause of Cynthia Ray's death to be asphyxia by automobile exhaust, and called it suicide. Mrs. Ray and her SUV had been found by a construction worker who wanted to take a walk in the woods while on his lunch break. He came upon the SUV tucked behind trees on private land off F.M. 691, between U.S. Highway 75 and Texoma Parkway.
Durant Police
Burglary -- June 8, 900 block N. 2nd Avenue, A complainant stated he had gone out of town for several days and upon his return, he discovered his house had been broken into.
Intoxicated, angry man severs arm -- June 9, 8 p.m., 200 block South 5th, Police and Bryan County EMS were dispatched to a residence and found a man severely bleeding from lacerations on his left arm. The victim was flown by helicopter to Parkland in Dallas.
Denison Police
Assault -- June 8, 1400 block South Woodlawn, A woman said she and her husband had argued over finances and then he hit her on the face.
Vandalism -- June 7, 800 block East Sears, A complainant said someone shattered out every window on her vehicle, then put an "X" on its roof and topped it off with lima beans.
Theft -- June 7, 1400 block West Gandy, A complainant said tenants who moved out took her furniture with them, including a couch, a queen-sized bed, an electric range, and a refrigerator.
Vandalism -- June 8, 200 block Spring Valley Drive, The complainant stated she found both windows on the driver's side of the vehicle were smashed out.
Cigarettes stolen -- June 6, 400 block U.S. Highway 69, Sunshine Foods, Someone had pushed out the front door glass, gone inside, and left with about 60 cartons of Marlboro cigarette, valued at $50 per carton.
