Sherman PoliceAggravated robbery arrests -- Jan. 30, 9:36 p.m., 1200 block East Jones, Police were sent to East Jones because of an assault in progress, Coveney said in his report. There, they were told that two men had used force to take three purses from an occupied vehicle. The victims reportedly followed the suspects to the called-in location on East Jones and confronted of them.
Both men, 20 and 27, were jailed on charges of aggravated robbery. One had posted $5,000 bond by Monday morning and was released.
Drug arrests -- Jan. 28, 12:15 a.m., 3100 block North U.S. Highway 75, A traffic stop led to the arrests of three men, ages 18, 19, and 26, on Thursday morning. Police uncovered 27 grams of suspected cocaine, bagged in many individual baggies. The three suspects were arrested and later transported to the felony charges of manufacture-delivery of controlled substance between 4-200 grams. One was also charged with failure to identify by giving a false name.
