St. Mary's Catholic School in Sherman is celebrated Catholic Schools Week this past week. The theme was Dividends for Life.
The week focused on the values of Catholic education. Activities throughout the week -- Silly Sock Day, Pajama Day, and Patriotic Day -- will compare somewhat to spirit week in other schools. However, the activities included a service project for students and families.
The project recipient is Texoma Healthcare Center. All week, the students collected items for the healthcare center's patients.
St. Mary's Middle School students will then deliver the socks with non-skid soles, chapstick, and travel-sized tissues and lotions to the center. Each child in the school is also making a hand-made Valentine's card to give to the patients.
