Sherman police, U.S. Marshals arrest assault suspect
BY MARY JANE FARMER
HERALD DEMOCRAT
Sherman police, assisted by U.S. Marshals, served an arrest warrant they obtained two weeks ago on David Glenn Boyd, 38, and jailed him on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle).
Sherman police Lt. Bob Fair said, "This is in reference to a Sherman case covered earlier where the (suspect allegedly) hit two persons by a car intentionally."
It happened about mid-June in the 400 block of Archer Drive. Two people, father and son Edward Chappell and Jeren Green, were allegedly in a dispute with Boyd earlier and believed at the time of the offense that might have led to the assault.
The two victims went by Sherman ambulance to Wilson N. Jones.
Boyd's vehicle was discovered later, but he had remained at large until Thursday.
Boyd has been incarcerated in Grayson County Jail 47 times since his first arrest in 1991. He was sentenced to seven years on Sept. 21, 2001, on several charges, including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and on possession of controlled substances. Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokesman Jason Clark said Boyd completed his sentence and was released in February 2008 and, because he served his full sentence, he is not under parole supervision.

ya gotta be kidding me : 7/3/2009
Am I the only one that sees a problem with the phrase "Boyd has been incarcerated in Grayson County Jail 47 times since his first arrest in 1991"? How many more times does he get to go in & out of jail before he graduates from assault to morder? He's not going to jail for having proper spelling and punctuation, or raising his pinky each time he sips from his teacup. Put a stop to this ridiculous merry-go-round and either give him a lobotomy or a long stretch in Huntsville.
