Denison native wins tennis tournament

HERALD DEMOCRAT

Denison native Brooke Wright captured the 2010 DTA Winter ZAT last weekend. The USTA tennis tournament, sponsored by the Dallas Tennis Association, had more than 500 juniors from across the state competing for individual titles.

Brooke won the girls singles championship in the 14-year-old age group by winning five straight matches.

She now advances to the USTA Championship Division of Texas tennis. Wright is the fifth player in Grayson County to move up in play in the last six months. She joins Sarah Case of Van Alstyne and Damian Shelton, Cameron Ramsey and Thomas Dickson, all of Sherman.
