Bells /Savoy bank celebrates 105th year of business

The First National Bank of Bells and Savoy will mark 105 years in banking on Friday, and organizers plan to celebrate with a communitywide celebration on the lawn from 11 a.m. -3 p.m. The program begins at noon with a flag presentation, followed by welcomes from Shirley Mullinix, chairman of the board, and Alan Renfroe, president/CEO.

"We are fortunate to have the rural Texas community bank character," Renfroe said. "Our continued strength and stability has s sustained not only our community, but our small businesses a well. We are enjoying growth, in spite of the fallout in the big bank arena."

Mullinix invited "customers, community friends and supporters" to attend the anniversary. The bank is located at 615 East Bells Boulevard in Bells. Festivities include a brief patriotic program, a cookout, cash drawings and music. For more information, call 903-965-7755.
