Area band has equipment stolen

BY MARY JANE FARMER

HERALD DEMOCRAT

RAVENNA -- The local band 2 Bar Town took a heavy blow when it was discovered Thursday morning that the trailer that carries all their equipment was stolen.

Chase Sanford, lead singer for the band, said the equipment was taken from beside the garage where it had been stored in the 8600 block of FM 1753, west of Ravenna.

Sanford described the trailer as a bright red Cargo Craft 8-foot trailer. It's back loading doors were locked and there are stickers from various other bands adhered to those doors.

Inside the trailer were a drum set, several instruments and amps, and all of the band's merchandise it sells at shows.

It appears that somebody backed up to the trailer and hooked onto it, then pulled it away.

Sanford said that any tip received leading to positive results will be rewarded. He added that the deputy who took the initial report said that over the past few months there have been other trailers and equipment taken from around that area.

Information can be given to the Fannin County Sheriff's Office, 903-583-2143.

stickers from various other bands : 12/5/2009
First rule of band club - do not put stickers of other bands on your band trailer - you are just advertising the possibility of lots of musical stuff inside that some thief would love to steal. Sorry for the loss, hope they get their stuff back.

No Surprise : 12/4/2009
This comes as no surprise. How much does anyone wanna bet that when/if the thief (or thieves) get caught, they prove to be repeat offenders? I personally think that 3/4 of the crimes like this one that occur are due to these judges who refuse to crack down on these sorry, low-life, repeat criminals! If they were sent away for some serious time and serious hard labor, it might be a deterrent to them to NOT go out and do it again!
