Warrant round-up announced
BY MARY JANE FARMER
HERALD DEMOCRAT
Grayson County agencies are teaming up to arrest those people named in warrants who have not, and are not, attempting to take care of their responsibilities.
This is the third warrant round-up coordinated by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. The warrants being served include felony and misdemeanor charges.
Grayson County S.O. 1st Lt. David Hawley said that the round-up began Nov. 23, and that people have until Dec. 10 to present themselves to the Sheriff's Office to make arrangements to pay off fines, court costs, and other penalties levied against them.
"Many of these warrants can be taken care of without going to jail if other arrangements are made," Hawley said. "Act now to avoid going to jail for the holidays."
On Wednesday morning, officers from many city police departments met at the Sheriff's Office for a briefing session. They also picked up paperwork packages the Sheriff's Office has put together for them to make their jobs a bit easier and more uniform across the county.
Warrants for offenses of a class B misdemeanor status through first-degree felonies are filed through the Sheriff's Office. Class C misdemeanors are kept within the police agency of jurisdiction.
Anyone who thinks or knows he might have an outstanding warrant is urged to call the Sheriff's Office or his law enforcement agency to make arrangements to take care of business.

first off no one in my household has warrants but this didn't stop the so called law from makeing a pleasnt vist to my home. In a manner that even hitler can be proud of they forced their way into my house scared my 3 and 5 year old children and treated me and my family like murderers. ( all to no avail it seems that the prior resedent had an outstanding warrant) but insted of checking to make sure that the "criminal" still lives at the address or thinking mabey someone lied about their address they just ransak the house and don't even apoligize when nothing is turned up. Wake up america when your children are more scared of the police than they are of any monster something has to change. where are our rights as americans ther was a time when this would never have been tolerated and a time when the law had respect for the people they are supposed to protect I know my father was a 10 vetran with the texas rangers when he died this is not what my tax dollars payed for

To citizen who pays tickets and those who do not pay, You may think its dumb to announce these round-ups to the public but you would be surprised at the people who would rather pay then spend the holidays in jail. That is why "we" announce the round-ups. We would love to have round-ups everyday, but we're to busy out writing more tickets and making more criminal cases for people to be found guilty on, so we can get more warrants for these round-ups. Funny how that works huh?
You can run and hide from your warrants if you want, but eventually it will catch up with you whether you thinks so or not. If you think we can't find you, your wrong. You would be amazed at our ability to find people if the crime warrants the extra research. I bet you won't be talking that smack when your sitting in jail while your kids are opening the xmas presents you paid for.

I agree just like He Who Pays His Tickets. This is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Everyday that a person has outstanding warrants should be "round-up day". However, this county of Grayson announces via the newspaper when to go hide. Hey everyone they are counting to 100 go hide! Seriously is the county this naive? Hey Grayson County why don't you just use your speakers in the squad cars and drive through the county shouting "ally ally oxen free" and see if that will work. Laughing hard.
Most police that are in other counties go after people who have outstanding warrants on a daily basis. Oh and guess what? Sometimes the counties and states work together sharing information to achieve this goal. It is as simple for most of the warrants to go to the last known address and serve the papers. Try giving each officer so many a day to serve and see if that will work. Yes some will not get caught however many will. Please start doing your jobs for yes my tax dollars pay your salary. You work for us citizens not your department.

How about them forcing their way into the wrong house at 1 AM and then searching it even though they know they are in the wrong house?
