Serving a warrant leads to footrace against Grayson deputies
BY MARY JANE FARMER
HERALD DEMOCRAT
Grayson County deputies were out serving arrest warrants on Wednesday when they found themselves in the area of Golden Rule Elementary School in Denison.
Lt. David Hawley said the deputies were attempting to serve two people wanted on warrants in the same area. They located the first and placed him under arrest without any problems.
But, when they attempted to detain the second man, he ran, Hawley said.
The details are not completely available yet, but at least one deputy gave chase.
Hawley said he was in his Sheriff's Office vehicle and nearby when he heard deputies on the police radio and went to the area. When he turned onto Ford Street, he said, the fleeing suspect almost ran into his patrol car, and that put an end to the chase.
After placing the suspect under arrest, Hawley turned him over to the other deputies, who immediately reported they were headed to the Grayson County Jail with him.

We've got the best Sheriff's department in the state of Texas. If the Denison and Sherman police department would work together with the Sheriff's department just think what could be done around here. Might be a nice place to live...
