Denison churches donate money to area charities
More than $4,900 was recently divided between three Denison charitable organizations through efforts of four Denison churches.
The money was raised during the annual pancake breakfast held during Denison's Main Street Fall Festival. A joint committee from Parkside Baptist Church, the First Presbyterian Church, Waples United Methodist Church and Park Avenue Church of Christ organized the fundraiser. Members from all four churches secured supplies, sold tickets, cooked the day of the event, served, and cleaned-up the site after the event was completed. Keeping the expenses lower were donations from local businesses and industries.
The cash donations went to the Grayson County Shelter, Denison Helping Hands and the Denison Ministerial Alliance Prescription Fund.
