Smith, a horse-riding enthusiast, is the daughter of Duane and Robyn Smith and the granddaughter of Ed and Donna Price, Jimmy and Rebecca Smith, Johnny and Faye Crisp, and Ray and Norma Tackett.
Helping Smith in her promotion of the association will be TQHA Princess Kayton Arnold. Arnold, 6, will be a first grader at Neblett Elementary School and is the daughter of John P. Arnold and Priscilla Arnold, both of Sherman. She is the granddaughter of Roger and Virgie Arnold of Bonham and Jerry and Carolyn Bates of Sherman.

In addition to Slaughter's gift, the TQHA donated all money raised from rodeo program sales to the fouindation.
