Christmas lights at Loy Park worth a look The red, green, blue and yellow lights continue to glow brightly at Loy Park in Denison as Grayson County's Holiday Lights 2009 run heads for the halfway mark.
Lights aficionado Ray Bledsoe stopped by the Herald Democrat to say things are going well at the display.
"We just love to see those kids come through out there," Bledsoe said. He added that he knows moms and dads are busy this time of the year. And, the economy isn't making it any easier to drop a donation in the box at the end of the exhibit. However, Bledsoe said, this thing has never been about making a great deal of money.
The donations are used to keep the electricity flowing and to pay the help for putting the lights up and keeping them running. Anything left over after the bills are paid is put back into the exhibit in new displays.
"It is really all about the joy of the holiday season," Bledsoe said, adding that joy really doesn't cost a lot of money or time.
Those worried about the time, keep in mind that when the line is long, one can tune into the radio station indicated on signs at the exhibit and listen to some dandy Christmas tunes.
