Since it has become apparent that the swine flu pandemic is subsiding, the high school sports schedule is set to resume on Monday May 11.

And kicking it off will be the District 9-4A baseball finale as Sherman plays at Denison at 6 p.m. on Monday with playoff seeding on the for the Bearcats.

In District 10-3A, Van Alstyne and Paris will face off on Wednesday night. If Van Alstyne wins, it clinches third place. But a loss means Van Alstyne will have to play Bonham in a play-in game for third.

In District 10-2A, Pottsboro and Krum will battle for the third playoff spot at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Whitesboro. The two teams tied in the final regular season standings.

In District 10-A, the standings will be final as is. The district voted to not make up the final few games, even though Bland and Blue Ridge, the top two teams, were slated to meet. Blue Ridge is the district champ, Bland finishes second and Trenton was locked in to third place.

In District 17-A, there are two sets of games to be made up but only those affecting the playoffs teams -- Wolfe City, North Hopkins and Cumby -- will be played since Wolfe City sits at 9-1 and North Hopkins and Cumby are at 8-2. The first set of games, which includes Cumby against Wolfe City, will be played on Monday with the last games slated for Thursday.
