Softball in the air at SHS
The weather may not feel like it, but the calendar says otherwise: It’s
softball season for the Lady Cats of Sherman High School.
The Lady Cats’ first scrimmages will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at
Old Settlers Park against Mesquite West, the first of four scrimmage
dates on the schedule. The Lady Cats will host Saginaw Boswell on Feb.
16 for the first real action of the year.
Pitcher Katelyn Klug earned second-team all-district honors as a
freshman and returns to the circle. Another second-team all-district
player, junior infielder Arianna Jones, is back for the Lady Cats.
Sherman will be looking to improve upon its 2009 campaign, during which
the team finished 14-17 overall and 4-10 in District 9-4A, in sixth
place.
