Texoma Council of Governments take applications for utility assistance program

Persons more than 60 years old and on a fixed income or disabled on documented SSDI income, may be eligible for assistance with electric and gas payments.

Beginning Jan. 15, the Texoma Council of Governments will begin scheduling appointments for the 2010 Utility Assistance program.

Beginning in March, all low-income households will have an opportunity to apply for utility assistance. Applicants are required to call 903-813-3541 or 903-813-3566 to schedule an appointment and must bring a photo ID, proof of income and current utility bills.

Texoma Council of Governments serves low-income households in Cooke, Fannin and Grayson counties and will schedule appointment dates in all three counties.
