Evan Martin with RE/MAX Signature Properties was the recipient of this year’s Realtor of the Year award presented at he Greater Texoma Association of Realtors Installation and Awards Banquet last week. The award serves to honor a Realtor who both performed well within the local industry and served the real estate community with his time and expertise.
The award was presented by the previous year’s award recipient, Lisa Hitchcock with Easy Life Realty. She explained the award recognizes a member who epitomizes the term Realtor.
“This year’s winner has demonstrated the leadership and servant traits that exemplify what being a Realtor is all about,” Hitchcock said. “They understand that we are more than just an association of Realtors, we are a family of Realtors. This Realtor has put his best foot forward from day one.”
Martin first joined the program committee then became the chair for that committee. His achievements include being Program Committee Chair, Rookie Appointee to the Board of Directors, Rookie of the Year, one of the Texas Association of Realtors “Top 11 Agents Under 40 to Watch,” and secretary and treasurer of the BOD. Martin is now in line to be president in 2020.
“He formed fast relationships with every agent he met and was quickly recognized as someone who wants to help and lead,” Hitchcock said. “His community efforts have touched us all as he worked so hard this past year as the president of Women Rock and helped us all come to terms when we lost one of our own. He truly has an ambassador’s heart. He has given his time and effort to the association selflessly and to a fault since he was licensed, and his spark has inspired many new agents to get involved.”
Martin first became a member of GTAR when he began his real estate career in November 2012 with Jenel McGrath Realtors. He is now a top producer at RE/MAX Signature Properties in Sherman. A Grayson County native, Martin’s long list of accomplishments in just five years is a testament to his work ethic and commitment to service.
