VAN ALSTYNE -- Van Alstyne police jailed Lee Andrew Rabon, 52, on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon this past week, after a shooting incident in the 800 block of East Marshall.

Police Lt. Tim Barnes said that about 11:30 p.m. on June 21, officers were called to a residence because of a shooting. The victim, whose name is not being released by police, was at a friend's home. He and Rabon had gotten into an argument near Rabon's home. Barnes said Rabon left the argument, then returned with a handgun. He is accused of shooting the victim, 34, in the abdomen with a .38-caliber round. The bullet went through the victim's mid-section.

Van Alstyne EMS had the victim airlifted to Baylor Hospital in Dallas, and Barnes said he has since been released.

Rabon made statements regarding his involvement in the incident, after which police booked him into the Grayson County Jail on June 22.

On June 23, he posted $50,000 bond.
