Sherman police arrest suspect in Temple Beth Emeth case

<p>SHERMAN -- Police announced Friday they have identified and captured a suspect who is accused of burglarizing and vandalizing Temple Beth Emeth synagogue on the 300 block of North Rusk Street.
</p>

<p>The synagogue's Torah with its silver breastplate and yad were taken in the burglary. The Torah is a sacred item, that contains the five Books of Moses, the founding religious documents of Judiasm.
</p>

<p>No word on if the Torah, valued at $40,000, was recovered, or its condition.
</p>

<p>Police will be providing more information later Friday.</p>
