Area high school bands competed in their district competitions over the weekend. Schools that received a 1 during the competition will advance to their area contests contest next weekend.
While many schools enjoyed repeated success this year, S&S Consolidated High School Band earned a 1 rating for the first time in its history.
Other areas high schools that will advance are: Bells, Denison, Gunter, Howe, Pottsboro, Sherman, Tom Bean, Whitesboro and Whitewright.
